What's the deal with Strawberry Shortcake? She came out when I was in high school and I really didn't pay attention to her. Now she's everywhere and my dd seems interested in her. What's the story? Is this a cartoon? Is she a fruit loving child?

Carebears too. What's their story? Are they an educational show?

both carebears and straberry shortcake were big when i was a kid.
they were as educational as lil kid tv gets, there is always some warm fuzzy moral to the shows if i remember right
mostly with strawberry shortcake it to me was a huge marketing thing, you could get anything from stickers to hair products to school supplies. you name it they made it
i dont' remember watching many SS shows though. i did enjoy the carebears
I don't know if that helps in the slightest but that is what i know and remember about both of those things

Strawberry shortcake DID have a cartoon. The toys even smelled like strawberries. I loved Carebears as a kid too. They always had great morals to their shows. I have a few bears still left

When I was little I had a SS birthday party. I don't think they had tv shows back then...if they did it didn't come on my 1 channel.
I think I was in like the 2nd grade so I don't remember too much about it.
Care Bears...I just remember they had stuffed bears out...I think there was a book also that had a record with it telling the story...I think you got that at McDonalds.
Yeah both of them are suppose to tell you what is right and wrong. I have watched the SS movie...it was basically about helping. One the Care Bears movie that Elizabeth has it teaches there is nothing to be afraid of...you need to share
Well what about Rainbow Brite...when I was in the 3rd grade someone gave me a doll for my birthday...now I see a lot of her also.

I went to the Strawberry Shortcake and the CareBears web sites. Now, I have a better idea what they are. I still don't see what the big attraction of the SS show is, but they are cute little folks.

And Cabbage Patch dolls are back too. I remember the shows and the movies. My parents got one for Brianna last Christmas. They will probably get one for Kaitlyn when she is older. I do remember Strawberry Shortcake and in fact I had the purse and wallet and the doll. My Little Pony too-Brianna has a few of those she loves horses like her Mommy

The SS cartoons are really cute. We have all of the dvd's. Maci asnd Hailey both love them. They have really catchy songs on them. Don't they Krista & Liz?
