TV's in bedroom

Does your child have a TV in there bedroom?

Kyler does. Delaney doesn't.

It's funny. My parents wouldn't allow us to have TV's in our room. My mom felt that it was the one time we all sat together and she didn't want us each being locked in our rooms by ourselves.

Kyler got one in his room when he was an infant. He HATED to sleep. So, Dan and I would watch TV at all hours of the night. Now... the TV has just stayed there. Kind of by default.

Delaney doesn't have one because her room is too small. When I'm putting her to bed or if she wakes in the middle of the night, I usually go into Kylers room to rock her.

No.

Rach does...for now she and Issac share a room and it's the only way they'll go to bed

My 15 year old son does but my 6 year old daughters do not.

No, but she does have my computer with a dvd player in it. It's the only way we can watch grown up movies in peace.

DVD, VCR and satellite too .. in all three bedrooms. Kirstie-Raie used hers every morning to watch MTV while getting ready for school .. Chase only used his once and a while when friends are over and Kale uses his like twice a week. They've always had a television in their room, but amazingly enough, they are not tv junkies.

Yes, it's the only way Jessi will go to sleep. She has panic attacks without it and since I suffered from the same thing for many years, who am I to tell her she can't watch TV to fall asleep?

The boys have one with a VCR, but they rarely watch it. It's mainly so TJ can watch his old Blues Clues videos. He maybe watches it once a month.

My kids have both had TVs in there rooms since they were young toddlers. They never had cable hooked up to them or anything though... they are mainly for movies and now video games too.

Shane and I have agreed that there won't be cable, internet, or phones in any of the kids' bedrooms.

Christian has one in his room. It is the only way he falls asleep which I guess is my fault. He slept in my room til he was like 1 1/2 and got used to me watching TV to fall asleep. We don't have the satellite dish hooked up to it though. It has a DVD/VCR. Plus has the VSmile, other game systems and after Christmas will have the gamecube hooked to it also. It really just helps keep the clutter out of the living room.

But he doesn't spend a lot of time in his room so he isn't a tv junkie. Kel is getting a TV also but it will be the same. They won't have any cable/satellite hook ups.

Yes

Only Johnny and I do and Payton. The rule is no tv's in the kiddos bedrooms but poor Payton is the only one that likes Teletubbies, Barney and the like so it just made sense to let her have one in her room. When she gets older we will take it out though.
Johnny thinks that we should allow the boys to have tvs in their room but my arguement is that I want to SEE my boys. If they had televisions in their room I would not see them very much. Plus I wouldn't be able to monitor how much tv they were actually watching.

Hailey and Maci share a room and they have one that has cable.
Cori does not have cable but she has a tv & dvd player in hers.

Yes, but it's not even plugged in.

Growing up we maybe had one working tv in the house, so I'm not big on tvs in the rooms. However, Brian's childhood was the opposite and he seems to want a tv in every room of the house. When we were living with his mother, we even had one in the kitchen!!

No and I dont think I will ever let them either.
Yes, but it is not hooked up to the satellite. It is a tv/vcr combo.

Drew has a TV and a computer i his room. Neither are hooked up to cable. His TV is so he can play his game cube without having Ally constantly pestering him. But since he lost the remote (and there are no channel changers onthe TV itself), he has to play in the playroom anyway! LOL!

Ally's room and the playroom are th same space, so she has the console TV I got at a garage sale for the kids in there. She used to watch movies to go to sleep, but we stopped that except on weekends. She has never been one to go to bed early and letting her watch movie to go to sleep was the only thing that worked for a while.

Yep, Brandon and Justin have one. But it doesn't have cable, so they are not in there all day watching tv. It is turned on at night for one movie at bedtime.

I didn't know so many people did that either. Guess I am lucky that all of mine go to bed when I tell them to.
Yes, you are!
Yes, you are, Tara. My dd has never been an easy one to get to bed.
Yeah, mine don't go to sleep with the television either.
No, and she never will. (until she moves out) No video games or t.v in her room.
Emily doesn't go to sleep with the tv, either. She watches her tv in her room maybe once a week.
No, Brianna doesnt' have one in her room but Jason wants to get her a little one for her to watch videos on-no cable or satellite. She goes to sleep without TV as well, but she has to have her book or she won't lie down.

None of mine have tvs in their rooms, and I have no intention of ever buying tvs for them.
