How old were your kids when you felt they were old enough to go trick or treating without supervision?

Kyler will be 16 before I let him go alone!! j/k

Without supervision, probably never. By the time that comes, they will be too old to trick or treat, LOL.. My kid's b-day is a week after Halloween, so last year they were just about to turn 10. This is something I tried last year and it worked pretty well. I watched them from our front porch as they went to about 6 neighbor's houses. (I stayed on the porch to pass out the candy). All the neighbors they went to know them and a couple of them waved to me from their doors. That gave them a little independence, but that's my limit. When they came back to our house, I put the candy inside and we went to the next block together.
