How Much?

We thought we'd sign up our daughter for gymnastics since she really wants to play sports but no one around here offers anything until they're 4-5 and she won't even be 3 until February. I called the one place around here that offers them and they are $46 a month for 4 - 1 hour classes! Plus a $35 yearly registration fee! I was shocked. I know we pay $30-$40 for our son to play each sport but that's for several practices and many games, not just four, and we don't have to pay every month. Looks like she won't be taking classes and I'm really glad we didn't mention it to her. I just wanted her to have something of her "own" since her older brother is playing sports and she can't. Oh well.

We are in the same spot here. There's nothing for the little ones. I have thought about signing my dd up for art classes at the community art center.

Yeah I wanted to sign Jake up for some Gymnastics classes but it is expensive, over $100 and I think it was for 6 classes.

I know this may sound silly but I know that some girls like it. What about karate? I called a couple places and Tracy's Karate is willing to take my son and they have a really cool website. I think it cheaper than gymnastics you may want to check your area.

I think it's pretty cool I can't wait till the beginning of the year Jimmy and I will sign up.

Karate is an option but I'd have to get both kids into it. Can't give one a fighting advantage over the other like that!

Try park recreation centers, they usually offer classes at reasonable rates. $15-25 here for 6 weeks of class. Might be tumbling not gymnastics.

I did that with Michael, i wish i could with Alexis cause she would be really good at it...plus we are far away from it ..

We go through the recreation departments for my oldest's sports and they have to be 5 by a certain date to play. One has classes for 3 & 4 year-olds that teaches them the basics of soccer, basketball and baseball but each class is $25 for one hour. None offer tumbling because they don't have the interest (some have tried in the past). We're still in a pretty small area.
