Sippy cups stop when?

I figured that sippy cup use stops somewhere in toddlerhood so I think this is posted in the right place. When do they stop using sippys. Zach is fine with a juice box (in a plastic holder/box so he can't squeeze it) and with a no spill straw cup. When do you take away the sippy? When can they use a regular cup well? He can drink out of a regular cup in his highchair but then all of a sudden he will turn it too much and he's drenched.

Truthfully? My boys are 3 and 5 and still use them. They aren't the spill proof kind - they just have pop up straws, but it's so much easier than worrying about them dumping them! When we are at the kitchen table for dinner or out to eat, they drink out of regular cups with straws. But the rest of the time, they still use them

We broke all the kiddos of sippy cups by age 4.

Dyalan of course still uses one because he's only 18 months old.. Austin uses a regular cup now. He's 5. Although I make it a point that his cup STAYS in the kitchen- it does not travel!

Thanks! So I guess Zachariah is fine with a sippy cup (he's almost 16 months!). Poor kid, I was ready to get rid of them on him. He is addicted to the Nuby cups. If he's tired or in the car he really wants the Nubys. He'll take the more traditional sippys too but he really likes the Nuby's.

Dawn--Zachariah likes the pop up straw cups too. That's what I was tlaking about. He still has the tendency to shake them upside down to see what will happen (makes me crazy and milk goes everywhere is what happens!).

The boys really like them because they love chocolate milk and like to be able to shake them and make "milkshakes". I think they used the *true* sippy cups until they were around 2 - 2 1/2.

My dd uses the straw cups, because I am sick of her intentionally getting a real kick out of pouring out her drinks all over the place. I'm hoping somday it will loose it's thrill. She can and does drink out of a regular cup all the time. Usually, it's mine.

ALyssa is 4 and has gotten regular cups for awhile - but she likes to put her fingers or her food at times in her cups. SO she doesnt get them with alot of anything in them. (yes at 4 she still thinks this is fun.) We also have the straw sippy cups too.

Same here. You'd think sticking your hands in your juice and pouring it over your head would loose it's novelty after awhile.

Issac is almost 3 and only drinks from a sippy cup at church because that's what we use in the nursery. At home or ILs or my parents' he drinks from a regular cup. Now in a restaurant when I order the kids' drinks their cups come with the plastic lids and straws, like you'd get at a fast-food place. He's only been drinking form a regular cup for maybe 6 months?

Both the boys still use them, Brandon is 4 and Justin is almost 2. At the dinner table, I will let them drink out of cups, but Justin will dump his over more than Brandon. When we are out they usually get the cups with a lid and straw. Both drink well out of the juice boxes and caprison type ones.

Ally is almost 5 and she still uses the larger sippy cups and the Nuby's in the car. Mostly because, like her mother, she can be less than graceful and I don't want to keep cleaning up the spills.

Kyler still uses his sippy too. But it's more convenient for me than anything else.
He uses it when I have to send something to the sitters or if we are going some where.
If we are home, he uses a regular cup. Sometimes with a straw, but usually just a regular cup.

They started having the kids drink out of little plastic cups at daycare around 2 1/2 I think.
