Time out dilemma

I'm getting frustrated. Whenever I try to give Aaron a time out in the usual spot, he yells and won't stay there. The only way he will stay in time out is when I put him in his crib but lately he has been trying to climb out. He can already climb into it. What should I do?

Wow .. good question. Persistance I guess. Just set a timer and keep putting him back in time out .. start the timer over each time you have to put him back down.

And a few for you, cause I know it is hard.

Now, when my dd is out of control and I threaten to put her in time out, she takes herself to her room. I know what you mean about cribs and playpens. What they can climb in, they can also climb out of and go whap! right on their head. So I can see why you wouldn't want to do time out in his crib. We've restorted to making her room the time out spot and taking away the tv. Those usually work for her. She's a pretty easy kid most of the time. I am a lucky mom.

There was a time when he would put himself in timeout but that is long gone. His stubborn streak is growing.
