Jannie got me thinking .....

.... about how to handle certain situations. Like we all tell our kids to always tell the truth. But then they blurt out something that IS the truth and we tell them not to say that because it is hurtful. EX: Drew called one of his firends fat. Now, this boy is a really good kid, but he is really HUGE (obese). When I called Drew on it he said that "But he is! And you told us to tell the truth." I just told him that while it may be true, we don't say hurtful things to other people.

So what have your kids said like that? And how did you handle it?

I guess you have to teach them how to be honest and tactful to not hurt someones feelings.

So far, I haven't had this problem.

The closest thing we had was Dan took Kyler into the bathroom and there was a boy (teenager) who came out of a stall. Kyler yelled, "Daddy - he just pooped. It stinks in here."
It embarassed Dan and probably the boy... but that was it.
