Well, I guess I no longer need to worry about a future niece or nephew with her. She went and had an abortion. I can't say I'm sorry to hear it - she's so far from mother material. But it is so very sad it came to that. 'Sigh" I'm not really sure how I feel about it at the moment I guess. It's just that after going through so much worry and scare with Shawn the last few days, I just don't understand how anyone could so voluntarily give up a blessing as wonderful as a child.

That breaks my heart to hear that someone would do that. But I dont think anyone can fully understand until you have let yourself become attached to your child squirming inside of you, let alone when they are born! I hope it was for the best.

Is she the one with the one night stand father and the drug habit? Or am I ? For once, I have no idea what to say. I'm sorry this is happening in your life. My sister did the same thing, but for different reasons.

People do what they do for different reasons but mostly it is selfish. I hope when the part of her that feels guilty comes around that she has people that can have a shoulder to lean on.

I am sorry she felt the need to do that.

Yes, Grace - she was the one with the one night stand and drug habit. I suppose it was for the best - the poor thing would not have had a very good life with her. And since we learned that she is most definatelt still on drugs, it probaly would have had a lot of problems. Still, it's so saddening to me.

Yes, it is sad that she would rather have her drug habit than her baby. Having known children and people born with fetal alchol syndrome, I can understand your concerns.

I wish she would have opted to have the baby and put it up for adoption.

If her drug habit was more important to her, she may not have been able to carry the baby to term, and even if she did, the child would be fairly difficult to place in an adoptive home. More likely, the baby would have ended up in the foster care system, or in some other group home or something, having been born drug-addicted and possibly suffering from a variety of disabilities as a result.

It's sad that she felt had to choose abortion, don't get me wrong.
