Ok, our neighbor is expecting - her son Dakota is one of the boys fave playmates. Well, now the boys are asking those tough questions. To quote some

" Mommy, how did the baby get in Kotas mommys belly?"

" Who put the baby in there?"

"How is the baby gonna get out?"

" Mommy, where did you get me at? And where you get brother at?"


They are wanting to know all about where babies come from. They're 3 and 4. I'm not sure how to explain it, or how much to explain. I can't imagine trying to explain to a preschooler

HELP!!!

When Kimmy asked those questions when I was PG with Alyssa, we told her that God put the baby in my tummy and the DR is going to take it out.

At that age you can just give them a simple answer and they are usually content with that. They are probably not looking for a long explanation or about When they are ready to understand more about it they will come to you again until then keep it with a simple answer like God put it there or something.

I would simply explain that the baby is in mommy's tummy and that because Mommy and Daddy love each other they made it there with love from God.

I heard about a kid asking his mom how babies got here, she told him to ask his father. The father looked at the boy and said "head first" The kid said ok and walked away. Kids are simple sometimes.

They boys asked me. I said it like the flower seeds in spring, you put them in right ground and they grow. For babys they grow in mommies tummy, and daddy put the seed there.
My boys didn't ask how he put the seeds there, so that was fine.
I think the best way is to see what they know, and then just give a very simple answer. If they want to know more, they ask.
