Bladder infection

I think I have a bladder infection. I have not been drinking much water, maybe 24 oz a day. I have good intentions every morning but it just doesn't happen. So when I go, there isn't much there, I feel pressure and then a "weird" feeling, don't know how to describe. Yesterday afternoon I had cramps and back aches. Is that a sign of a bladder infection? Today I am determined to drink my 64 oz of water if it kills me. I am going to try and get some cranberry juice also. Anything else that will help?

If you suspect a UTI, see your doctor. You can't cure them without antibiotics and they can bring on preterm labor when pregnant. On top of that if it lands in your kidneys you will more then likely end up in the hospital. If you call your DR and tell them, they will have to pee in a cup and then give you a script for antibiotics...10 days and your done....saves a lot of pain and problems later!

I've never had one so I have no idea what you're feeling right now but I hope that you are able to get something to clear it up soon.

I had bladder infections like crazy in my first and early second trimester. It seemed like I was always taking antibiotics. It didn't matter how much water I drank I just got them. Cranberry juice only prevents them. You need the antibiotics to get rid of them.

It sounds like an infection. You should tell your doctor.

I had so much constant pressure on my bladder that I always thought I had an UTI, but I always tested negative. I was in Vitamin World yesterday and they said Acidophilus is good for preventing UTI's as well as yeast infections.

You definitely need to drink that water though! Oh, and for the record, I used to have a lot of UTI's when I was younger. I could feel them coming on and would drink a ton of cranberry juice, which would flush me out good. There's also an over-the-counter natural cure now called AZO standard -- especially good when it feels like you have an infection, but don't.
