Buy from the registry or not??? Decisions, Decisions!

Oh my gosh! I can’t believe this.

I just checked the gift registry of these people we used to go to church with. This couple is getting married in January. They are young. Neither of them has ever been on their own, and they don’t have anything, as far as furniture and linens and dishes—the necessities. So, I know they need some things liek that. But they didn’t register for any of this kind of thing. They registered for games and electronics. DH told me to get something off of their registry and to spend about $xx amount. But I really don’t feel comfortable getting them “Scrabble” when I know they need towels and sheets.

What would you do?

Maybe their parents are buying the things they didn't register for like linens. I would buy off the registry and just spend whatever you were going to. You never know what people have squirreled away. I had tons of linens and dishes before I moved out of my parents house.

I would buy from the registry or give cash/GC.

I would purchase a giftcard or go along with a few other people and get a even bigger gift card. I wouldnt buy games for a wedding gift even if asked for.

Gift card, for sure.

I would talk to her just to see what they do have. I would buy linens...baking items...drinking glasses...silverware...things that they really need.
