My husband and I have been trying to concieve for about a year and a half. I have pcos, and have been on glucophage therapy for about 5 months now. My cycles have been slowly returning to normal..my last cycle was 30 days, but as of current, I am on day 49 and no sign of my period yet. I took a pregnancy test on late day 6 and it was negative. I again took a test on late day 9 and still negative, but the negative was very light. I have not tested in 10 days, and I am beginning to worry. Should I test again and then call my obgyn? Any help at all would be very appreciated, as my longest cycle since starting on glucophage was only 43 days, and I am really late. Both tests I took were negative, first test I didn't use first morning urine, but the second test I did.

Hi, there, Wlecome to BBU

I've heard that some fertility treamtents can affect pregnancy test resluts. I'm not sure if this would be the case for you.
Sometime you can get a negative result because the HCG levels are still very low. I would test agin, and if you still get a negative result, contact you OB/GYN.
There are lots of women on here TTC, so they will be able to give you better advise and also help support you through this very trying period in your life

They are a very supportive, friendly group of people here, so stick around
I look forward to getting to know you better.

if still nothing dr can find out for sure right?

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who responded. I still have not gotten a chance to test, but will do so in the morning. I've been having some cramps, that are somewhat like menstrual cramps that start in my lower abdomen and then around to my lower back. Something new to me, and definitely painful. Any other tips or advice is always welcome.

if its not normal could it be implantation cramping? things moving around in there maybe?

HI and Welcome!!

I also have PCOS, and underwent Glucophage therapy in the past. I think you should test again and than call the Doctor. They may want to perscribe something to start your period if you aren't pregnant. Good Luck!

So far, the test I took this morn came back invalid, so I have to get yet another test. The last test I had done was late day 9 and it was negative, but light negative. The cramps I'm having are mostly at night it seems, and they start in my lower abdomen and shoot around to my lower back. They do feel sort of like menstrual cramps, but sharper and they don't last very long. Also, thanks to all for the warm welcome here. I will call the doctor tomorrow and see what they want me to do. (after I get the results of the pg test) I'll let you all know how things are going, and again, thanks so much

Thanks all for the congrats. I have an appt at the prenatal clinic this after noon. It's only 7 this morn and I'm already awake. Still having some pretty painful cramps, and almost ended up going to the hospital because they got so bad. I am hoping everything is ok ...and also, according to my last period, I should be 7 weeks and 4 days along today! Well, I must be going, but I'll post again this afternoon once I see the dr. Bye everyone and take care

Good morning everyone. I went to the doctor yesterday, and my pregnancy was confirmed. I am a bit scared, confused, happy, and a bunch of emotions I can't even name right now. I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping too. Well everyone I am going to go in and try to get some more sleep, but good luck to everyone who is still TTC, and may you too be blessed with the ultimate gift of life.

Hi! Welcome and Congratulations!!!!!

My DH and I are TTC and after becoming slightly obsessed with the whole process I've decided to take a much more laid back approach. I'm still taking my herbs and charting with BBT but I'm taking everything in stride now. When AF shows her face, instead of letting it get me down, I look at it as another start and another chance to try again. I love seeing other people get that positive result. It always gives me chills because babies really are such a miracle. I wish you a very happy and very healthy 9 months. Good luck with everything!!

So far so good.

Thank you Sarah. A positive result almost made me faint. It wasn't what I had expected to get, since I've had so many negatives in the past. It's better if you just think about other things, and don't focus on getting pregnant. The way you view it now is great, every time a/f comes, it's just another beginning and you get to try again. I think that possibly a colposcopy had something to do with mine. On Nov 9, I had a colposcopy performed and dr. said I hadn't ovulated yet. He said if a/f cycles got down to 30 days, that would be great. I was on a 35 day cycle at the time, on Nov 12 I got a/f, which meant I'd hit an actual 30 day cycle. On Nov 27, must have been the day I concieved, so it is really strange how it all turned out. I'm thinking that the colposcopy helped out in some way, because I also had a biopsy taken from my cervix that day. Coincidence??? Well take care and good luck ttc, it will happen for you
