Does your child take naps?

I think Emmalea is starting to get to the point where she's giving it up. She doesn't really need it anymore. There are days when we've been out and doing a lot where she is tired. But if we've just been home or to the park, she doesn't seem to need it. She seems to do better when she doesn't have one. I've noticed that when she takes a nap and then wakes up, for the rest of the day she's a grouch. If she doesn't have a nap she's just a happy kid.
So does your kiddo take a nap? And how old are they?

Mine all quit taking regular naps sometime between 2 and 3 years of age. I also noticed that they were pretty darned grumpy the rest of the day, or at a minimum, it was impossible to get them to go to bed on time that evening!

good, so I'm not alone. She'll be 3 in April so I figured it was about time. No matter what, lately she's been going to bed between 7 and 8pm so at least that's not a problem. It's just her attitude in the evening that is bugging me.

Jake takes naps every so often. Like today he didn't take a nap but tried to fall asleep at 6:30, if he had he would have been up all night. When he takes naps it ends up being a later nap and then he won't fall asleep till really late. (I'm a late owl anyway so it doesn't bother me to much) He is grochy if he is tired, so I still like the naps, they just need to be shorter and earlier in the day. Which we are working on.

Alyssa is 4 and she stopped taking them around 2 too. and she used to be pretty happy - BUT she doesnt go to bed til 10/11pm every night. I play it by ear with her - most days there is no nap - but if she's crabby - she takes a nap.

there are some days where Nick has the shortest nap in the world (and is whiny as hell because of it). THen there are other days where he will have a 2-3 hour nap

Mine still take naps, thankfully!! Brandon is 4. He says he doesn't take them at pre-K, but he rests. Justin sleeps about 2 hours. On the weekends, as long as they are downstairs with me, Brandon will sleep. If I let him stay in his bed, he just plays. But he is a grouch if he doesn't take one. Brandon is 4, Justin is 2.

Every kid is different. My niece took naps until the end of 1st grade. I know I wouldn't want a grumpy kid.

depends on the days, at daycare he takes a nap, and quite often is a super cranky kid all evening. need to talk about that

when we are home we often skip his nap unless we know we are keeping up up late for a hockey game or something. makes bedtimes much easier
logan will be three in Feb

Brianna is two and a half and she still takes naps. She is grumpy if she doesn't have one. She usually naps from 2 to 4 everyday. She goes to bed at nine but doesnt always go to sleep until 10 or 11.
