Have you ever had family or in laws ask your family for money?

I know it can be touchy but have they ever done this? if so did you help or did not?

Yes several times. I like to help but it can become a sticky situation. There was one time we could help out and my bil & sil still hold it against us. What were we supposed to do- not pay our bills (necessity) so they could get into a house (want). I don't think so.

I haven't had anyone ask us for money. We have borrowed money from MY family though, we would have never gotten through when Mike was sick otherwise.

If I had even $10 to spare and my family needed it I would give it to them. That's what families are for, support in anyway possible.

My mom asked at one time and I gave it to her, it was not much but felt funny coming from my mom. She never asked again.

BIL has asked and sometimes we have given him the money and sometimes not, but it's never very much. Just gas money and stuff like that. He calls it a loan, but we know it's a gift. He would never think to repay us.

Yes - we have helped out when WE WERE ASKED. We dont assume someone needs help unless asked. We have loaned money to friends too to help them through.

Out of desperation, we had to ask my mom for a bit of help. She did help us as she knew it was not goign to be an reocuring thing....but it was the hardest thing that we ever had to do

Yep just the other day BIL asked for $200 to help pay rent but he is going to pay it back ($100 this week and another $100 next week) I will help someone if I trust them to pay me back but if they don't then I don't give them any more money until I get whats oweed to me.
