I used to not ovulate at all on my own. Because of the PCOS but I wouldnt get my period. I would have to go in and get provera to bring on AF>

My Sister has non-ovulating cycles - and then she will ovulate double time without AF. She has four girls, with two being twins
She also has fibroids (sp?) that have had to be removed, I dont know if that has anything to do with it or not.... I can ask her if you want?

I think she also had something on her cervix? but that might have been the fibriods?

When I was going to the infertility doctor, I actually had normal periods but I only ovulated every other month. The body is a strange thing!

Andrea,

The only way to know if you've ovulated is to use an ovulation predictor kit. (It works off the hormones in your urine)

There are many woman who don't ovulate or only ovulate a % of the time. The statistics are stagering. I was in the dark until I went through fertility treatments and found out I was only ovulating 50% of the time.

Lenora,

I went through this when we were ttc#2, I thought it was my fibroid but the specialist said it was because I wasn't ovulating. I had some AFs that would last 20 days. Oddly enough, since we are not having more kids AF has been regular and only staying for 4-5 days.

The dr said it was some sort of hormone problem and it could be just a little bit of spotting or a whole AF. I was hoping for just some spotting, but it looks like it's going to be a whole AF. I'm to call him back on Friday if it hasn't stopped by then. Thanks everyone!

I hope AF goes away soon. I know how frustrating and annoying it can be to have what seems like the never-ending AF. I hope the Dr. is able to help you.
