"NutriGrain Bar" recipe

1 box yellow cake mix
3 cups quick cooking oats
12 ounces jam of choice
1/4 cup margarine melted

Combine cake mix, oats, and margarine in a large bowl. Blend until you have fine crumbs. Spray a 13x9 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Using half of your mixture, press it into the bottom of the baking pan. The bottom of a measuring cup works well to pack it down. If your jam is thick, thin it down with about a tablespoon or two of water.

Spread the jam over your first layer, to about within 1/4" of the edge. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture evenly over the jam and press this down until well packed.

Bake in a 350° oven for 20 - 30 minutes or until edges are a golden brown. Allow to cool completely and cut into 1x2 bars. You can wrap them individually in wax paper for an easy to pack snack. Should yield approximately 24 bars.

They are really good and pretty easy to make. Ally likes to help me. Great for putting in school lunches and for after school snacks. But I warn you - they won't last long! LOL! A batch lasts maybe a week here.
