Ok. I'm going to the store today to buy more hpt's. I have 2 left at home. Those hpt companies make a killing!!!!!!!!!!! I'll buy two more and then if I don't get a positive by Sunday morning I definitely will be getting a blood test next week!

This is absolutely driving me insane!!!

When are you late Cheryl? I might wait until you are late, those tests get pricey. GL!
Get them at the Dollar General. They're only a $1 there. Good luck!

Well, it's hard to tell when I'm actually late since my cycles are different. To be on the safe side I'm going to say if I don't have AF by Sunday or Monday I'll be late.
or if you have a save a lot they have them at the registers for $1.

I can never get one at the dollar store, they're always out.
Are the ones at the dollar store pretty accurate? esp for earlier testers like us? And any dollar store? I'm going to have to make a trip to look if they are.
I never had any luck with dollar store ones...when I was testing with Rach I never got a positive until I went to the Dr.
Make sure the ones you get specifically say they can test early.

I'd wait closer to when you are due for AF. That way you can save the $$ (those things are pricey!) and it will be a better hormone level for the test to detect.

The ones they sell at the Dollar General here are the same ones they use at the Health dept.

Cheryl I hope this is it or the month I should say. Here's my advice...like you asked for it Anyway...whatever cycle day you had AF last month...I would wait until about 5 - 7 days after that cycle day.

GOod luck hon I can't imagine getting a pg test for a buck!@!!
Good luck Cheryl!!!!

I know what you mean Michele, they cost more than a buck here in Ontario. And I have never seen them sold at a dollar store here as well only in drugstores.

Good Luck!
and Melanie....if they were to sell the HPT's in our dollar stores....I would be afraid....very very afraid....I think the US Dollar Stores are way better than ours.....most of our dollar stores have a TON of crap
post #16 of 25
Good Luck!

If you're hoping for an early positive, I sure wouldn't go cheap with the test! I'd be going with the "you get what you pay for" theory on this one, especially to get the answer you're looking for.

Good luck and let us know when you know something!
I agree Michele!
I agree with Leah... You get what you pay for... Go for the expensive one for early signs.

I think you need to get one today because the suspence is killing us here.

Do you think First Response is a good one? I am not exactly sure which ones pick up early detection. The one I have in my cabinet right now was pretty expensive (Clearblue digital). I wonder if it will detect any hcg?
Cheryl I used the CB digital...look on the box and see how early it says you can use it.

Good. I'm pretty sure that is the one I have at home. I'm gonna buy one or two more just in case tomorrow's is negative. But hopefully it will pop up and say 'pregnant' That would be too funny because I got a + on my very last opk stick. Maybe I'll get a positive on my very last hpt.
that would be funny.

Cheryl, my suggestion, get the Equate (if you have a WalMart near you). It will detect 25mlU of hGC in the urine. They aren't the cheapest out there, but they will help save your pocket and are pretty simple to read.

You can see the ratings here---> http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregna...oppregtest.htm

Some of the "Early testing" ones out there only test between 40 and 75 mlU of hGC.

Take a look and compare.

Sending good thoughts!!

Thanks Nikki!! That is quite helpful!

The brand I used this morning was Walgreens brand EPT (I thought it was a CB digital).
