Immunization risks?

Do you worry at all about the risks of immunizations? Do you stick to the schedule set by your MD for the immunizations, choose selectively which immunizations you give your child, or not give them any at all until at certain age or never?

I stuck exactly by the CDC reccommendations and got my dd the chicken pox vaccine as well. I would rather her get the shots than those awful diseases like polio. They aren't dead, they could resurface and I want my dd protected from that possiblity.

I think the benifits out way the risks for most children. If you're child has a reaction to a vaccine then you'll know to give less next time or space them out more.

We have stuck by them. Kate had a reaction at 6 months - so we took our time at the 9 mo and did two at a time to figure out which one she was having the reaction too. - Well she had a reaction to the alcohol wipe an NOT the shot.

We have stuck with them, too. We discussed the risks of immunization and the risks of not immunizing with Emily's pediatrician so that we could make educated decisions.

We've stuck to the guidelines too. The benefits definitely outweigh the risks for us.

I have stuck with all the boys immunizations. We discussed the risks of giving and not giving with our dr also.

I believe in immunisations and my kid are fully immunised. In NZ you get your first lot of shots at 6 weeks and both boys reacted by having severe tummy pain for several hours afterwards (Lots of "I'm hurt" crying, legs pulled up etc).

They get 2 lots of shots at that age so after that they only got 1 shot at a time, I would take them back 10 days later for the 2 vaccine and they never had any more trouble

I am also fully immunised but I didn't even know they had a vaccine for pneumonia, so the dr gave me that one yesterday and they have a new vaccine for tetnus now called "Adult tetnus and diptheria" so I got that as well on the other arm and I would just like to say OOOUUUCCCHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

They didn't hurt anymore than usual but by last night both of my upper arm muscles were so stiff and sore it hurts to move my arms, not to mention the back and neck pain. Today it is just as bad but spreading down my body into my groin as well. I don't know if it is because it was only a couple of weeks ago I was pumped full of IV fluids + Antibiotics + other chemicals and maybe my body hasn't quite recovered or not, but Jeez Louise I hurt today.

I've stuck with them, but I did my research first. I also feel comfortable speaking with the doctor about any concerns. The one exception is when Jessi was young, they had just come out with the Prevnar vaccine. I wasn't comfortable enough with it, so we skipped that one, but the boys have both had it since.

I have also stuck by it, I feel it helps.

We have stuck by them too- while I will questiom things I dont agree with, I didnt go to medical school and if I didnt do an immunization that appears to be safe for most kids- and something happened I couldnt live with myself.

not me

I must say that I did hundred of hours of research on the subject and after what I have read and seeing vaccine injury in three children that I know, I have not given either of my children any vaccinations at all. I would never tell anybody not to do it but I would say to find out some information. I think the medical world is too anxious to jump right in and vaccinate for everything every chance they get because it is all about the money. My kids are 5 and 2.5 and I have had no problems. I feel very comfortable with my decision and my doctor sticks by me too.
