Sorry, we don't do valentines day, growing up it was something we saw on American Sitcoms and when the 'Happy Valentines Day' stuff started turning up in the shops a few years ago we just thought "can you say 'commercial holiday'

However my hubby did ring me and lunch time to say "Happy Valentines Day, I love you"

Does that rate a little aww and ohh

My dh took me out to a Chinese dinner, rented movies and gave me a stuffed animal gorilla and toad each carrying a heart. He said "I may be a lug and a toad, but I love you."

Oh Karen, you are REALLY gonna oooh and ahhh over my gifts!
I got $100 of Creative Memory supplies/stuff (bought em myself and am happy ) and last night I got to go to Lowe's and spend a $100 on new mirrored bedroom closet doors, paint and globe for the ceiling fan! Oh, and part of my gift as well was DH putting up the doors and he cleaned out the garage while I was gone. Now THAT is love!

Oh, and a really mushy card. And what was the sweetest part of my day besides all the darling Valentine's day cards from the kiddos was that late last night when I was laying in bed watching TV, Johnny came in and put a little chocolate heart right in front of my face. He swiped it from the kids candy from their parties at school. I thought it was very romantic at the time!

DH doesn't do Valentines day. (He says it's a hallmark holiday) I gave up on this holiday years ago!
Valentine's *is* a "Hallmark Holiday". And I don't remember DH ever getting me anything, but this year, he had to work a bit late, and when he got home, he gave me a really pretty bouquet of carnations (my favorite). DS and I bought a little cake at the store for us all to share after dinner.

Shane and I didn't really get each other anything. We spent the day together and went shopping where we picked out some baby things and then DH got a bunch of books. I'm not too into wasting money on goofy Valentine themed stuff.

I got flowers on Monday. A day early, but he can't stand to wait when he has something like that. And we got our new bed last night. A mutual to/from for both of us.
I am getting a half hour relaxation massage on Saturday plus we exchanged cards
post #22 of 75
I got exactly what I told him I wanted. The first season of Greys Anatomy on DVD. He also got me a rose that the tip is chocolate. mmm. He got Emmalea the Bambi 2 DVD. I'm also gonna go do a little shopping today and he won't b!tch at me. lol. Not TOO romantic, but, made me feel special since he usually doesn't acknowledge the day at all!

aww see - some of you had really nice days!

I dont spend $$ on the Valentine's day stuff either for Kev - but its nice to be thought of.

And we dont normally do anything here either cause of it being a commercial holiday - but ya never know - sometimes they surprise us.

Kev did appoligize for being sick Not that he could help it. It was just real sweet.

Valentine's Day is very important to me so I don't like to just blow it off.

I'm making my hubby give me a do-over on my gift. MAYBE he'll listen to what I want this time instead of giving me a cheap-a$$ pen that only a child would like.
Oh Jen how are they doing?
I got flowers and a card and we went out to dinner.
