I wasn't talking about anyone here. I was just pointing out the good things about Steve.

Geez! Sorry if you took it personally!

I don't think anyone took it personally. It was just EXTREMELY rude.

Cheryl,I am not being mean or rude, so please dont take it as that.

For the past couple of years I have hinted to Rich about getting me a diamond heart pendant, even
hinted about it this year. I dont want an expensive one, it is only about $400. And this year, I never got it. I wasnt disappointed at all because I know we cant affored it. He got me a really nice card, and ended up taking us all out for dinner.
I am sorry that Steve didnt get you the Spa package that you wanted, but I think the most important thing that he gives you is his love, he doesnt need a day to say how much he loves you and give you some material object to show it. I told Rich about the re-do gift thing and what he would do if I ever suggested it, jokingly he said he would tell me to shove it. But he said, it shouldnt be about "something given to you, like a present", but it should be about your love. He said if i was to do that to him, not matter what he got me, he would be hurt. I am sure you were not expecting a pen, but I guess it was something other than nothing. Plus you said you had a wonderful evening together and that is priceless. I think sometimes people tend to forget that it isnt about what you get, but what you got already.

All I can say is that after watching my sister go through another Valentine's Day or ANY other holiday without her husband ... I'm glad if Stan is alive and well enough to give me a hard time!!!!

I think the too many people expect too much on "special days" instead of looking at the day to day. Lord knows I've been guilty of this and I've been guilty of posting crap .. but let's just step back and realize that people here are going to give you their 100% honest opinion sometimes and if you can't take that, then don't read their postings.

Sorry .. personal opinion here .. I do think Dana was just trying to say that she wouldn't do it and that she honestly hoped it worked for you ... not bashing you in anyway for your decision.

I got my dh a Jenna Jameson DVD along with some other things .... he was surprised and happy.

DH got me silk pj's (he mentioned he doesn't want me sleeping in my sweats anymore.... ) but it was very sweet and I love them!

I didn't even see this thread til Dina popped it back up. Den and I didn't do anything. And I didn't mind one bit. If it would have been a weekend night, I may have made reservations to go out to eat but as it is Den leaves at 6 am and gets home at 7 pm. So we just sat on the couch together. Heck, I was just happy to have him home this year.
