Break Resistant?

We bought some Corelle... All 4 cups and 1 bowl have broken! One fell onto a carpeted floor, 2 fell from the counter into the sink, and another one Daniel knocked onto the floor, forgot to pick up, and later stepped on. I'm not sure how the bowl broke. It says: "- Break, chip, craze spot and fade-resistant under normal use." I just looked, the site says "Do not abuse by dropping or hitting against a hard object." Well how the heck else do cups and bowls break?

I have always wondered that myself!

I had a couple of pieces that broke, too. I also had a couple that came chipped. I emailed the company (throgh their website) and told them I recieved them as gifts and that they were chipped when I got them, and since they were a gift, I didn't have a receipt, so I couldn't return them to the store. I told them my pattern, and they replaced them. I also had a couple of bowls that the bottom just fell out of in a perfect circle. Something about the way they were molded. They replaced those, too.

I noticed that they break pretty regularily for me too. Especially once they get older, they get brittle. I don't honestly think they break less than any other dishes. I got a set of really cheap (like less than $11) dishes and not a single one of those have broken after about 5 years.
