Jason and Carly duck for cover as the gunmen speed away with the chimp in tow. In the isolation ward, Robert reminds Luke he's the only chance they have of stopping the epidemic. Jesse comes to the cabin in search of Lucky and finds his fellow officer lying unconscious in the snow. Stunned by Sonny's feverish confession, Emily urges him to get well for all the people who love him. As Maxie tries to comfort her frightened sister, Georgie lashes out at Tracy for constantly trying to separate her from Dillon. Meanwhile, Michael and Danny slip away from the cafeteria. At Alexis's apartment, little Kristina tries in vain to awaken her mother and Ric. After receiving a call from Jesse, Elizabeth begs the police to send a chopper to rescue her ailing husband. A frantic Lorenzo berates Alan for failing to treat Skye in a timely fashion but the doctor reminds him that the neediest must come first. Michael appears at his father's bedside. After armed men take Lucky away, Jesse is knocked cold and the cabin is set ablaze. Lorenzo bitterly accuses Luke of bringing a plague down upon the people of Port Charles. At the Metro Court, Jason searches Rush's room while Carly poses as a call girl to make contact with their target. Emily returns Michael to Max's care but Danny continues to roam the halls looking for his sister. Nikolas and Sonny become unwilling roommates as the crisis at the hospital continues to escalate. Noah, Patrick, Robin, Alan and Robert confer about the best way to disseminate the serum made from the antibodies in Luke's blood. Danny finally returns to the cafeteria and tells Michael he feels sick.

Jesse accuses Robert of sending the armed men in the chopper to grab Lucky and leave him for dead. Lorenzo eavesdrops as Emily contemplates some underhanded efforts to secure serum for Sonny and Nikolas. Meanwhile, Luke insists that his daughter be first in line to receive the lifesaving antibodies. Jason ducks into hiding when Rush returns to his hotel room with "call girl" Carly in tow. Briefly regaining consciousness, a feverish Lucky finds himself on a jet heading for some undisclosed location. Robert explains to Jesse and Elizabeth why he believes the people responsible for the encephalitis outbreak are the ones who abducted Lucky. Jason pulls a gun on Rush and orders him to talk. Realizing Skye isn't sick enough yet to merit the medication, Lorenzo secretly switches her chart with Lulu's in an attempt to save his lover's life. Georgie sneaks out of quarantine to sit with Dillon but finds Tracy already at her son's bedside. Elizabeth reports to Jason that the virus is man-made. An anxious Tracy entreats Alan to doctor her son's chart so Dillon will get the serum. Later, Monica forces Alan to step down from the selection committee. Carly and Jason head to the Markham Islands. Dillon asks Georgie to marry him. Luke convinces Bobbie and Noah to take more plasma from him to give directly to Lulu.

Noah and Bobbie spring into action when Luke suffers a setback during the second plasma extraction. Sam is frightened to find Manny leaning over her. As the selection committee debates how to prioritize which patients will receive the lifesaving serum, Emily shrilly objects when her parents declare that criminals like Sonny should go straight to the bottom of the list. Meanwhile, Sonny tells a skeptical Nikolas he's ended his relationship with Emily. As Skye begins to recuperate, Elizabeth realizes that Lorenzo switched her chart with Lulu's. Outraged by Robert's decision, Robin bitterly reminds him how Sonny was more like a father to her than he ever was. Jesse comes running in upon hearing Sam's cries for help but Alexis insists her client was only performing his court-ordered community service. Emily pleads with Monica to put Sonny back on the injection list. Bobbie warns Luke that the second procedure will kill him. Down the hall, a feverish Lulu tearfully calls out for her father. Alan admits to his appalled daughter how much better off they would all be if Sonny died. Luke visits Lulu's bedside and sadly apologizes for not being a better dad, then implores her to fight for her life. Jesse collapses while confronting Manny. In the hospital chapel, a guilt-stricken Lorenzo prays for Lulu to recover. A delirious Alexis threatens Sam. As Lulu goes into convulsions, Luke pulls a gun on the selection committee and orders them to give his daughter the serum.

At the hospital, Robert finally talks Luke into surrendering his weapon. As Danny pulls Alexis off of his ailing sister, Ric realizes that his wife is reliving the trauma she endured during Kristina's near-fatal illness. Jason and Carly arrive in the Markham Islands and try to pick up the trail of the pharmaceutical company's goons. Meanwhile, Lucky's captors bring him to their lab to await the right moment to test their antidote. Elizabeth summons more help after Lulu's condition takes a drastic turn for the worse. Assuring Dillon he's the love of her life, Georgie tearfully accepts his marriage proposal. Tony regretfully informs a horrified Luke that Lulu's organs are shutting down. Maxie reluctantly agrees to help her sister arrange an instant wedding ceremony in Dillon's hospital room. Robin explains to Patrick why she chose him to make the rest of the selections for doling out the serum. Sitting by his daughter's bedside, Luke begs her to keep fighting for her life. Later, Robin and Patrick come up with a way to find an extra dose of antibodies for Lulu. Tony begins showing symptoms and realizes he's too sick to continue treating patients. After his daughter receives the injection, Luke is thrilled to see Lulu regain consciousness and smile up at him. An angry Tracy barges in as Georgie and Dillon start to exchange vows.

Luke undergoes another plasma extraction. Though Patrick again urges her to leave before her health is compromised, Robin refuses to stop treating patients. Carly comes up with a risky scheme to get to the people who are holding Lucky. Meanwhile, at the lab, Lucky's condition grows more serious. Lucas hurries to his father's bedside after learning that Tony has come down with the virus. Jax finds an ailing Mike at the diner and calls for an ambulance. Following her own miraculous recovery, Lulu tells Nikolas he may be in line for the next dose of serum. When Emily bemoans the fact that his past has prejudiced the doctors in the patient selection process, Sonny suggests that he may not deserve to be saved. Tony reminds Lucas to stand tall and always be proud of who he is. Nikolas hears a weeping Emily declaring her love to Sonny. Carly cons her way into the lab as Jason tails her captors. Tony thanks Luke for his friendship over all the years, then shares an emotional farewell with Bobbie. Later, Tony reaches out to B.J. as he dies. Patrick asks a shaken Emily to choose either Sonny or Nikolas to receive the next dose. Luke consoles his grieving nephew. Jason bursts into the lab and shoots all the technicians but not before Carly is injected with the deadly virus.
