Have you noticed the large number of decreased celebrities who were also veterans? Elvis Presley, Jimmy Doogan, Jimmy Stewart, JFK...

But how many living celebrities (including politicans) are veterans or currently serving in the Armed Forces?

List the person and Branch of Service

She's in the news pretty regularily for everything she does. She got in the news recently because she started her teaching program at WVU and they dedicated the Women's Clinic at the VA I go to in her honor not too long ago.

Fred Rogers - Navy SEAL

Lee Marvin - Marines

Bob Keeshan(Captain Kangaroo) - Marines

Have a neat e-mail my dad sent me, telling about these three men and their service. It's a very interesting story. If anyone would like to see it, I'll try to remember to post it all or I could e-mail it to anyone interested. I know I never would have guessed good ol Mr.Rodgers to be an ex Seal. It's why he always wore long sleeves in public - to cover his tattoos.

Forgot to add - on his show, in later episodes he appeared with short sleeves - computer effects and much make up work hid the tattoos, like is done in movies. Buit live public appearances, he always wore long sleeves. Living in Pgh, where he lives, I've actually met him several times. I remember once or twice wondering why he had a sweater on in 90 degree weather...Then my dad sent me this e-mail. Ok, i'm really done now
