Heard of Goddard Schools?

Has anyone heard anything about the Goddard Schools? http://www.goddardschool.com/ I keep getting info in the mail, and since we'll probably start looking at preschools for DS in the next 6 months, I was wondering what Goddard is all about.

We get mail from them all the time, too.

From what I understand, they are very, VERY good.

I think they're kind of like a chain. I know they have them in several states, and they all have a code that they have to go by as far as the way they keep their facilities, their teacher education requirements, and things. I think they all have a similar curriculum, too.

Every Goddard facility I've seen has been well maintained and up-to-date. The one closest to me is really nice. I would even like playing on their playground. The classrooms are always really well organized, too. And I think they have a pretty low techer:child ratio.

I know they have higher standards for their teachers than most daycares and preschools. I think they all have to have degrees of some sort. Plus, they're big on training and continuing education. They have all kinds of workshops for the teachers to go to, so they can get new ideas for their classrooms and stay up to date on regulations.

We had our kids at Goddard in CT for 2 1/2 years and I couldn't say enough. It was the one reason I cried when we moved.

A new Goddard just opened in Orange, CT. We get mail from them too. It looks really nice and I've driven by and the building and grounds are beautiful. It's similar to ds's school--his is also under a corporation. His is Children's Discovery Centers. What the deal is is that all of the school under the corporate logo adhere to the same guidelines...they use the same contact forms, payment schedules, teacher education, etc. I liked that aspect b/c it is kind of like another system of checks and balances.

Thank you all for the feedback!! That makes me feel more optimistic going in. I'm going to RSVP for the next tour they offer. Now I just have to hope that it doesn't break the bank!! From what I understand, each one can set their own pay structure.

When I called the one here, they weren't really that much more than any of the others I checked in with.
