Graco SafeSeat

Dee's post about the car seats reminded me I wanted to share this...

We just bought Graco's new Safe Seat for our new baby. It has all the safety features of the Snugride (rated tops by Consumer Reports) but now can keep a baby rear facing longer. It goes up to 30 lbs (instead of 22 lbs) and 32" (instead of 26"). Zach was out of his seat around 5 months b/c he was too tall. He was always under the weight limit though. With this seat he'd have been able to stay in it until about 15 months when he was over 32 inches.

It is a little pricier but you can hold off on getting the toddler seat longer. I know we won't be lugging around a heavier baby in it all the time but it will be nice to have the option of letting him sleep and taking the whole seat out longer than we did wih Zach.

I also got a great color combination called Samba at a local baby store--Blue metallic and black. They don't sell this color at BRU but they do have some other great color choices there.

Very good!
I was wondering about that stuff, but the toddler seats probably wouldn't be worth it to me because they only go to 40 pounds. Liv just turned 2 and she's already 33 1/2 pounds, and I doubt she'll be ready for a booster when she hits 40, so I'll stick with my Marathon.
But I'm really glad they've made the infant seat so it holds bigger babies. Liv grew out of her SnugRide when she was 4 months.

Same here, Zach went from his infant seat at 4 months into his Marathon. We have two Marathons for him so our spare will be for the new baby once he's out of the SafeSeat. But if it's as good as they say, he can stay int he safe seat until 1 year old (if his height and weight are like his brother's).

That is a good idea..Allec was out of his infant seat at 5 months cause he was too long and weighed too much. Hopefully this baby wont be growing so fast..haha!!
