What do you wish you’d known about DH/SO’s family before you got serious?

Yes, definitely! The number one thing I am going to tell my girls is to make sure that they like the boy's father because more then likely they will act just like them!

Kyle and I were very open with each other from the beginning, so I can't think of any surprises. Our backgrounds were very similar, too, which helped.

i love his family sad to say but hes family behaves and acts better than mine. that question should be answered to him instead of me.

This is an easy one. I wish I had known his dad was a manic depressive that refused meds (of course he wasn't diagnosed then he was just an a$$hole. ) and that if you did something they didn't approve of, they would just write you off....Until they needed something.

I wish I had known what a his Aunt Jean really is and what she was doing to dh's grandma. Of course, he wishes he knew that too.

I wish I would have known that his dad's temper and non stop busy body ran in the family. Sometimes I can't get dh to stop the to do list and just relax or play with ds. Then he wonders why ds gets in his way beggin for some attention.

I met his entire family on our first date so I knew what I was getting myself into and I still married him

Well Mike and I were best friends before we started dating. I know things about him most people never hear from a boyfriend, things I probably wouldn't want to know as a girlfriend. So there isn't anything about him personally that I wish I knew.

i cant think of anything right now, his parents are alot like mine.

his brothers and sisters are all very different in different ways.

none of them get in our relationship very much. until recently...

ok, maybe i wish that dh wasn't such a softie that he feels like he needs to take care of everyone of his brothers and sisters.... he is the baby of the family it makes no sense to me!

I wiah I knew that Grant's sister wasn't gonna try and steal my child (theres a whole thread on from a few months back) having said that I still would be with him, I;m not marrying her, I'm marrying him, Ppl tried to warn me but I decided (stupidly) not to judge.
