Chore list

What are some things you have your preschooler do?

We just bought a chore chart from Target. It is a dry erase one that is set up for a week and you write the chores down on the left side and you get 4 different colored magnet stars that you place in the box when the chore is done so I guess this chart only works for 4 kids.

We have for Christian (he's 5 1/2)
*Feed & Water Joe
*Put Silverware away out of the dishwasher (M-W-F and Sunday he shares that chore with Kelsey)
*Sund-Tues-TH nights help mommy look at school calendar, get clothes, and discuss the letter of the week.
*Put toys away before bed--shares this chore with Kelsey.

Kelsey
*Feed kitties(involves scooping 2 cups of food)
*Put silverware away Sun(shares the day with Christian), Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday(hardly any silverware this day)
*put toys away before bed--shares with Christian
*go over toddler learning--you know ABC's, counting, recognizing letters and numbers.

We also have listed if Mom or dad reads the story before bed and who gets to pick the cartoon before bed.
There isn't one thing on the list they do themselves without me or Den helping. When they put the silverware away, I've already pulled the knives out. At night when we put the toys away, Den hands them to them and reminds them where they go. Does that sound too hard? They really aren't chores so much as all of us working together. I mean I'm not asking them to do my dishes or my laundry...LOL Some aren't chores but just things we need to do but it helps them to want to do it so they get a star.

Ryan enjoys to do 'chores' even though we don't have any set ones. He has his regular schedule for his morning and night, like brushing teeth, reading books, getting dressed ... but his c'hores' would be setting the table at dinner time, he enjoys vacuuming and cleaning - so those are his chores when they are needed but not on a set schedule. And he has to put his toys away every day, we are lucky he considers all this fun because he is so anal and not actual work!

Oh, and he is responsible for cleaning the lint trap of the dryer, god help me if I do it and he see's!

LOL!! Kel loves to help dump the soap in the washer and gets really upset if she sees me do it. It is a good thing I buy the BIG jugs of Tide or else she'd probably have a whole container spilled in the washer. So far she hasn't been able to lift it...lol

Dina, my mom has rhyne do that chore at her house, so now she gets mad when I do it at my house.

Rhyne has to empty all the little trash cans from the bathrooms, her room, braylen's room and by the computer desk, she takes her clothes to the laundry room, helps feed the dogs
