Has your spirituality changed?

Has your spirituality changed since you were a child, or since you were younger?

Feel free to elaborate, and as always, please no debating.

The first time I went to church, I was 3 days old. (OK, so I went to the nursery ) I learned the Commandments and Beatitudes, but didn't really think about what they meant, I suppose. At 12 I was taken to task by a Sunday School teacher for not giving an answer he expected to hear. I felt if it didn't mean something to me, I should just not say it.

It was at that point I started making a distinction between "religion" and "spirituality".If I had to choose between the letter of the law (religion) and the spirit of the law (spirituality), I would go with the latter.

I didn't go to church as a child, except for several times with my grandparents.
Now I actually know God. I have a relationship with Him, and I have Faith. So yes, it has changed.

I think I have grown stronger in my faith and convictions as I have gotten older. I have gone to church since I was two weeks old, but in all those year, I have learned more and grown more in knowledge with each passing year.

Yes.

I was raised in a "Christian" home. My parents both called themselves Christians. They were of different faiths and neither of my parents really practiced their religions. We went to church some, but not regularly to any certain church. We’d usually go to church with one grandparent or the other when we did go. And my parents were never involved when we did go. So, we didn’t really know why we believed the way we did. We had nothing to base our faith on.

When I made the decision to accept Christ, I started to learn more about why I had been taught the things I had been taught, and what those morals were based on. I had a couple of excellent teachers when I was a new Christian. They would say “Don’t take my word for it; check it out in the Bible.” It encouraged me to dig deeper and develop my own faith and convictions, and not to do things just because someone else told me what to believe. I have a personal relationship with Him now, instead of just a set of guidelines that I’m supposed to live by.

I was baptized and raised a Cathloic but never did the First Communion. Now I don't have any particular religion. I'm thinking of being a Messianic Jew but that's still up in the air and I don't really find the time for religion even though I feel I should.
