How many activities/projects can you think of that would use a 20 oz. soft drink bottle?

Use it as a sand toy.

Cut it in half and use the bottom for a scoop cup and the top for a funnel.

Fill it half way with water and half way with oil for a wave bottle. (Make sure the cap is on well or glued/taped)

Sea Life Habitat

A lady I worked with in the preschool made this and the kids thought it was so cute. She filled it about 3/4 of the way with water and put in blue food coloring. She took two orange balloons and tied the ends of them without blowing them up. She put dots on the top of them for eyes, so they looked kind of like gold fish. Then she stuck them in the bottle, and it looked like they were swimming.

Fill a bottle half full of hair gel. Put in small beads, coins, or other small items. Fill it up with hair gel (not completely full--leave about an inch or so at the top). Make sure the cap is on well. Children can shake it and see what happens to the suspended objects.

Good ideas. I wonder how much hair gel that would take.

I usually just get whatever's at the dollar store for $1. Last time I think I got a 16 oz. bottle.

Actually, if you could get the label off the gel bottle, you could use that, too, if it was clear.

Once I mixed several that we had at the house just to see if it worked. It was pink, yellow, orange, and something else my mom had. . It ended up being a real interesting color.
