Well, we went in for induction at 6 am on 4/6/06 (thursday). Got in, did all the BS history and stuff and got the IV started. Took her 2 tries. That was the tone for the day.
I just hate it when they don't listen to you.... I TOLD her to put the IV in my hand. She wouldn't listen. Try #2... perfect IN MY HAND.
Pitocin started just after 8. Had my request in for Dr. Afram to do my epidural. Well... poo-poo happens and they moved his case up to 8:30
so I got stuck with someone else I didn't know, which ticked me off.... I know stuff happens, but geez. So, it took him (the unknown MD) 2 tries to get the epidural. Thank goodness it kicked in .... I was ready to come off the table and kick his butt. However, things went better after that. They use a medication here now that doesn't give you the "dead legs" like when I had Lauren, so I could feel the pressure, but not the pain. You can also "feel the burn", but I found that out LATER.
So, about 12 noon I told Chris to get the RN b/c I needed to push.... the doc finally got there and I started pushing around 12:35-ish. Ryan was here at 12:54 pm with only a 2nd degree tear, although it FELT worse than that. I was thankful it wasn't to a 4th degree like with Lauren.
His face got really bruised during delivery b/c of his size and b/c he arrived so quickly. His bruising is finally clearing up, down side to that is increased bilirubin, which meant he had to stay in the hospital yesterday under the bili lights. Chris and I stayed w/him all day so I could pump and then feed him to keep him under the lights. Lauren's hung out w/Grandma and Grandpa so she's happy as a clam. So far she likes her little brother.... we have to keep a close eye on her b/c she wants to kiss him all the time.
Well, I'd better go. I need a nap while Ryan's asleep and everyone's entertaining Lauren.

Congratulations, Kim!
How's the breastfeeding working out?

So.... gotta figure out how to transition back or if it's ok to keep using. I'll have to ask the lactation RN on Tuesday.
