Postpartum Pain

So what did you do to help with postpartum pain and discomfort? What helped the most and what helped the least?

I don't remember a lot of pain although I had the normal discomfort with the uterus shrinking back down (especially when i breast fed) and stinging when I pee'd. The little water bottle they gave me to squirt while using the bathroom helped immensly with that though.

I had a lot of pain from my c-section. I used the heating pad a lot, and I am sure I took whatever pain medicine my doctor gave me. I think it was Vicodin, but I can't remember.

With my vaginal delivery I used the water spray bottle and some spray on lidocane stuff that was great. That and motrin. Oh, and I sat on a pillow for a week or so.

With my c-section. Percocet and tylenol for a couple days. Then just took it easy.

With my vaginal I just used the water bottle and they had me but tucks on the bad for the first week or so. I also had this stuff called Dermo plasty, (not spelling it right) that you sprayed on it felt like heaving.

With my c-section I went home with Motin which I took for the first two weeks I think.

The stuff Des is talking about is what i meant...it's like lidocane and felt so cold and good. It is Dermoplasty or something like that. It was a spray like solarcaine.

I had something similar called epifoam I think... I totally forgot about that.

I was really lucky with Aidan. I had the cramps after for about 1-2 days ... I took 1 percocet and then it eased down. Ryanw as a different story.....

After delivery they gave me a "self medicating kit" that had my epifoam, colace, and ibuprofen in it. I'm not sure you can buy it OTC.

I don't know where you can buy it. My hospital gave it to me. You might want to check a big pharmacy. Like the ones that are in the hospitals. Or call L&D and see what they offer.
