Do you have a sticker on your childs window...

... to indicate to firemen that it's a child's room?

Do you know the stickers I'm talking about? I'm not sure what they are called.
I have one on Kyler's window. Not Delaneys. I'm not sure what to find them. Dee originally bought me the one for Kyler's room.

I know when I was a kid - my parents had these stickers on all of our bedroom windows.

I have never seen or heard of those, but if you find them, please let me know. I would love to put those on the girls windows.

We do but I had no idea that was the reason for it!!! Now I know! That's wonderful!

This isn't "exactly" what I was thinking of... but it's pretty close. I think it just has a different logo then the one I have now!

We have them .. got them at the fire station. They also gave us two little kitties and puppy sitcker to put near by so they know we have animals. They are small and you can't really see them from the road because I heard about them once and thought yuck! But they are not big.

I guess calling your local fire department is needed.
I'm going to do this tomorrow.

Another reason why the decals are not recommended by Dover Fire & Rescue is because it provides a vulnerable spot for your home. The decals could act as a signal to unwanted individuals directing them to the location of your children.
This was the first thought that popped into my head too. Why would you want to advertise where your children are sleeping ???? but maybe I'm just to paranoid.

I also never had my kids school bags etc named so the name could be seen, nor did they even have initials on their clothes - just in case people guessed their names correctly from the initial, and with twins that would have made my life so much easier

Not for me I'm afraid.

We had the other kind at our old house. The ones that go on your front door and back door. They have boxes to check off for what is in the house. It lists dogs, cats, birds children if I remember correctly. If you have more that on you write the number in the box with a sharpie. again, if you aren't home you really don't want firemen risking their lives searching an empty house but we did use this kind.

I can't remember where I got it but they were free. Maybe our vet. Yeah, I think it was our vet. Anyway, I took extras so I could change them as needed but haven't located them since we moved so we don't have any on the door right now. Plus I highly doubt Mike will want a bright yellow sticker stuck to our new front door We'll have to see.

Shari--Call your local fire department and see what they say. Either way, I would not tell my kids they have these stickers on their windows if you do put them on. You want them to get out never wait for a fireman. I also had the ornage and silver Tot Finder on my window when I was little. They used to give them away at fairs and places like that. I had one in my sticker album too

Like has been mentioned, our fire department doesn't give these stickers out anymore because of their concern for the protection of children from potential predators. These stickers make it too easy for them to know where the children are and get to them too easily.

It was something I had never thought about before but I totally agree with them and will not put them on my children's windows. We go over what to do in case of a fire and hopefully they will be able to get out or someone outside will let the firemen know there are children in the home - but hopefully this is something we'll never face.

Yes we do (obviously Shari since I bought them for you!! I thought I gave you 2 ??) Also your local firedepartment would have them as well

I had bought mine from One Step Ahead

I agree with Maree. These things will not come up on our windows.
