What words do the Kindergarten kids need to know?

What are those 30 words that the Knidergarden kids need to recognize before moving to 1st grade?

I had a list that the K teacher gave me but I cant find it.

Does anyone know?

I think it varies from state to state (or maybe by school district) You can do a search for "kindergarten high frequency words) and come up with several different lists. Why don't you see if your school system has a website? It may have them listed.

Hmmmm.... yeah... Haley didn't have to know any words by the end of Kindergarten. They didn't touch anything more than the ABC's and their name before first grade.

This is the list I was given at the kindy parent meeting last week. I'm sure each school is different but this is the list.

Yeah they need to know a lot more by the time they leave kindergarten. My school district is teaching kindergarten how to read instead of 1st grade.
