How do you get your toddler

to stay in bed once you lay him down for the night??????

We lay Nick down in his bed, and then he is up and down like a yo-yo....we have to sit at the top of the stairs and keep telling him to go to bed, lay down, go to sleep, yadda yadda yadda.

Dad has better success than I do. Its frustrating....what kind of things do you all do? ANd yes we have a routine...bathtime, brush teeth get dressed and off to bed...saying good night to everyone as we head up the stairs....

Sometimes we have the same issue. I will let him up once and ask if he has to go pee. If he says no then I tell him to go back to bed and that I promise to come and check on him once he falls asleep. The promise will usually work but sometimes he will continue to get up last night he did but I was tired and tried to put him down earlier than usual. My fault!

I have no clue why rhyne stays in bed I'm just thankful she does!!!!

Every once in a while she will get up (when she isn't that sleepy yet) and say that she has monsters in her room, or she needs this or that, but usually she will stay in bed.

Are you putting him down too early? Maybe he isn't sleepy enough to stay put?

we have a childproof thing on his door, we tell him its bedtime to lie down after all the regular routine and close the door. he has no choice, he is usually asleep within five to ten minutes. no crying just playing

I wish I knew how to keep them in bed. Every night we we go through them getting up countless times!
