Question about taking the pill postpartum

I've already gotten a prescription for Micronor because I knew that with the move it could take me a little while to find a new doc (and I'll never go by the "I'm not in a relationship so why take bc" theory again). So anyway if I'm breastfeeding and not having a period, how do I know when to start it? Should I just pick a Sunday and go for it?

Is that pill safe to take while breastfeeding? I have never taken birthcontrol while nursing so I am not up on the new stuff I would think that after your 6 weeks of bleeding are through that you can probably take it..I would just call and ask someone on a nurseline or something though.

Micronor is like the mini-pill I think...it's progesterone only. I think I'd wait a couple months so you can get your supply established. I've heard some women say it's decreased supply a little for them.

I ended up not ever taking it, but at my six-week check-up I got a prescription for this and they said to just pick a day and start. It can be any day of the week that you decide but she said since most are use to starting on a Sunday that that's what she suggests. As long as you're consistent with taking it, it doesn't matter what day you start.

I have been on the min pill since my 6 week check up. I just started them on sunday. With Desiree my dr gave me the RX when I was discharged and said start next month. I never noticed a change in my milk supply with this pill. Good luck.

Yeah just pick a Sunday and start. The mini pill is safe when you are breastfeeding.
