Vision changes after pregnancy??

I know I've heard that your vision can change durring pregnancy and that it will return to normal afterwards but is it normal to go through a period of blurry and poor vision postpartum?

I just noticed last night that I can't read the TV's preview chanel from my bed when I always could before and this morning I'm squinting to see the computer screen. I've always had really good vision so I'm not sure what is up.

My vision changed quite dramatically while I was pg esp the 2nd time around. Your vision changes usually bc of fluid build up in the eyes changing the shape of the lens in your eye. I suppose that when the fluid levels in your body are still up and down it would make changes in your eyes. Has your blood pressure suddenly gone up??

It may pay to see a dr if it doesn't go away soon. Check with Kim

I remember mine changing during pregnancy, but can't say it did so afterwards. I was told to give my eyes 6 months to readjust before having my vision checked. I also had the blood pressure question come to mind when reading your post.

It'll probably take a little while to have normal vision. An increase in hormones often causes temporary eye conditions and blurred vision.

My doctor said that estrogen changes in pregnancy will cause that and it should eventually go back to normal. Here I am a year later and my vision never did go back to normal.

ugh I hope it goes back soon.

I have the problem that I'm going to HAVE to have my eyes checked pregnant or not because otherwise they won't give me new contacts.

Not that I noticed, but I have tons of eye problems anyway from the MS. I would talk to my dr about it while you are still insured. I'm not sure how your insurance works. Mine cut off six weeks post partum.

Yes mine changed a lot with Collin and Allec..it eventually returned but not before I went and got glasses. I was seeing double and couldnt see clocks or channels on the TV too!! I had to get glasses cause I couldnt see to drive. I had to get right up on road signs before I could see them!! Hopefully it will change back for you soon!!

Vision change after pregnancy

It has been almost 8 years for me and my vision hasn't returned to normal either. My optometrist says that does happen for a very low percentage of women.

My feet have also stayed one size bigger than before pregnancy.

Oooh! My feet did that too! As a matter of fact, I gained one 1/2 shoe size each kid ... weird, huh?
