Would you ever go on vacation over your child's birthday?

That would mean pawing them off on someone else while you and the SO go on vacation.

(personally I have a relative that does it every year.)

my sil does this every year, she is a single mom and got to enjoy two weeks a year with no kids.

we did it two years ago and never again!

no i would not do it either. i might ship logan off for some time in the summer with relatives just for fun, but not so that i can take a vacation

I don't think I could take a vacation while it's one of my kids birthdays, at least not at this age. Maybe when they become adults or something.

Not on their B-day!

I would never leave them in the 1st place, nevermind on a birthday! Thats traumatizing!

I would never go on a vacation without dd on her birthday ever. I'm selfish. I want to spend her birthday with her. It might be different if she was 16 or 18 and all she cared about was being with her friends, but not as a little kid.

ok i misread the thread, i couldn't figure out why you all kept talking about leaving on vacation during your kids birthday?

my parents did it EVERY single year!

my dad had to go to seminar every first weekend in february

and yes it sucks and yes i still remember it.

I'm sorry to hear that Andrea. Kids' birthday's are so special. Before you know it, they don't want you on their birthday anymore. Best to enjoy it while they do.
