My sister and I were talking about this yesterday. She says kids won't enjoy it before age six. I say any age is a good age to go to a theme park.

I mean any theme park - not just disney. We were thinking of waiting on our dream to go to disneyworld until the baby is 2, because at 2 they can recognize the characters and stuff. But we've taken dd all sorts of places since she was a baby and she's always had fun. And if she gets tired, well, that's what strollers are for.

I guess to me when a place calls itself fun for the whole family, they generally mean it. It's not fun for the whole family except those under 6.

Depends on the park and the circumstances. We went to Islands of adventures when Logan was 14 months old because we went to FL for xmas with my parents. We have a six flags and they have tons to do for the toddlers, Looney toons addition to the park and a huge water park there. Then again it depens on if you are going with a group of adults or another family ect. So it would depend for me

I was surprised when she said her kids couldn't handle Disney until they were over 6 and even then they were easing in with a Disney Cruise. Disney Cruises are great, but I think at 3, they could have a fun time at the real disneyland/world. When they're little, they really believe they are meeting the "real" Mickey Mouse and Goofy. I think that's kind of magical.

We have been thinking of taking Kate and the baby to Silver Dollar City next summer to meet up with my dad. There's a lot of singing, dancing, train rides, etc that aren't roller coasters to do there and it's pretty mild park. I get sick on most of the rides anyway, so hanging out with the baby while the others ride isn't such a big deal to me - as long as I have the stroller. I swear that stroller is the best money we ever spent on a baby/toddler product.

I think that children won't remember going to an amusement park until they are six or seven but if you have the photo's and talk about them and let the kids look at the album's and the memento's then they will have visual aids to 'remember'. And while the kids may not remember specific occassions they will have a ball at the parks and you will remember the fun they had.

Sounds more like your sister doesn't want to take the trouble if she is not going to 'get the credit' for it. If you think Kate will enjoy it then go, have fun, and enjoy it yourself

We brougth Kyler to six flags last year (3 1/2) and he LOVED it!!! He still talks about it now.

I'm thinking of taking both kids again this year. Delaney will be almost 2.

I agree that it depends on the park and who you go with. We took Lyssa to Disney when she was not quite 2.5 and she remembers going and what ride she rode with who and what ride scared her. I only think they will not remember it if you dont ever talk about it or have pictures. We do both. Kate went at about 8 months and granted I dont think she remembers it but she does know who Mickey is now and she had a great time when we were there.

Ok Kayla hasn't been to any amusement parks yet with us, but we are alking about taking her to Cedar Point or Six Flags next year when she's a year and a half. Otherwise I don't think she would have alot of fun.
