What do you think?

I met this lady over the weekend at a birthday party and I loved her highlights and cut. I want to get mine cut, but DH is adament that I don't. He wants it long. I hate it long. It doesn't always do what I want. When it comes out good, it looks great. When it comes out bad, I look like helmet head. It is hot, and I can't stand the feel of sweaty hair sticking to my neck.

My question is if DH was dead set against you cutting your hair, would you do it anyway for your own ease and comfort?

Look at these pictures and tell me what you think. Also keep in mind, it might be the length he likes now, but it is usually up in a pony tail or barrette.

Front view...

I just love the highlights of the blond and red. I had that for awhile when my hair was short about 6 months ago

I did what you want to do about 10 years ago after being married to my ex for about 3 years. He played a song after he saw my hair. The song was by Aerosmith called "What have you done with your hair? LOL something like that...

Anyway after that he never questioned my hairstyle.

How cute! I can't believe he's that adament about the way you wear your hair. It's YOUR hair for pete's sake! Tell him if he wants to get up every morning and fix it for you, that you'll wear it however he likes.

I'm going both ways here, Jen. I cut my hair a couple months ago and really regret it. It's too short to put into a ponytail and just long enough to cover my neck, causing me to sweat. Now I am trying to grow it back out a bit, just enough to pull off my neck.

However, I agree, it IS your hair and you can do with it as you wish.

I have had it short for a couple of years, just started letting it grow out in the last 6 months. I loved it short.

I think you should wear it any way you want. Forget what your husband wants for your hairstyle. If he does something you don't care for but you let him do it any way, I'd remind him of that.

Not only do I think this haircut is wicked cute, I am going to get one similar when I cut my hair next month for Locks of Love!

I would do it, if he or you do not like it- it will grow back - its just hair!!! Besides like everyone else said its YOUR hair !

I think that is a very hip and flattering hairstyle and I bet it will look GREAT on you Jen! How does he know that he won't like it until he sees it on you. Men are turds. Do what you want..you can always grow it back out again

See that's the thing. He has seen it short before, and in that similiar hairstyle. It is always, I like it but I want your hair long. MEN!

i LOVE the cut AND the highlights.

As for the haircut. Whatever. It's your head. If he did it daily then I could see that.

When Matt and I met I had SUPER long hair. it gradually got shorter. I was getting it cut until it was about ONE INCH long. matt HATES it. But he knows its my head, my hair, i have to do it and deal with it if it's long.

i win.

I love your hair short .. my hair cut is just like yours was 6 months ago .. but I've let mine grow out. SOOOO .. that being said. Why do you try it like you want it and if it turns out you are not SUPER happy with it, tell John you'll grow it out in October when the weather gets cooler and try a longer style then

BTW .. you should SOOOOO go see my stylist .. I love her!!!

i think the style and color is wonderful! go for it, it grows back

Jennifer had a good point though that if you can't ponytail it then it is stuck on your neck all summer!

I know my DH prefers my hair long, but he wouldn't throw a fit if I chopped it all off. I happen to like it long, so we all win. Every 6 months or so, I cut it to shoulder-blade length, just to clean up the ends, though.

George says I'm not allowed to get my hair cut. Trimmed but not cut. I got it cut not long ago and he actually likes it more than I do I think LOL. He tells me his opinion and then I do what I want. Though I've only truly cut my hair twice since we've been married because we both prefer it longer. He more so than I. But eh whatever.

I say it's your hair, and do what you want!

Well, I have made the decision and I am going to tell him today. I am going to get it cut, I will let it grow back starting in September and leave it long for winter. He will just have to deal with it.

Roxanna, I have a girl I normally go to, and she does a good job. But where do you go? What are the prices?

I see Tracey at Pat's Hair Shack on Hwy 5 behind Chic Fil A .. have gone to that shop since I was 13 .. Pat used to do my hair .. but Tracey has done it for years now. They are a FUN bunch of girls and I just love them!!!!! Last time it was $85 for cut, style and two color foils. I swear by her .. she is fantastic!!! She does our entire families hair!!

It's your hair, do what you want. Tell him if he likes long hair, grow his out!

DH says I'm the one who has to fix it and live with it, and as long as I don't come home with hair shorter than his, he doesn't care what I do with it, as long as I don't dye it green or pink.

Maybe you could compromise- if not do it anyways.

He can't, he is thinning!!

Well, he is entitled to his opinion - but you know what they say about those!

It's your hair and you are the one who has to deal with. If you don't like the way it looks, change it.

My DH says the same thing. He'd rather actually see my shorter hair then just have it long and in a ponytail ALL the time. It's long now and it's always up. I'm thinking about a cute short cut too.

It's your hair. He'll get used it and might ever find he likes it.
