I have a hitter

Thread Starter
Alyssa was never a hitter.
Kate however hits when something doesnt go her way or she gets frustrated

I need some ideas on how to get her to express her frustration in a different way.

Its just one or two little hits but I still dont want her to hit. We know when its coming cause she scream/crabs first then hits. and for some reason she comes over and hits me even if its Lys she's frustrated with.

You have my complete empathy. My dd is a mean thing too. I understand that just because a child is mean to her family doesn't necessarily mean she will be mean to others. We refused to acknowledge dd when she hit and it worked for awhile. Now it doesn't.

I feel your pain hon. Nick is the same way. He hits whover is close to him whenever he does not get his way. We have tried ignoring the behaviour, redirecting him, doing it back to him.......time outs.......nothing seems to work. If you all come up with any ideas please let me know

Justin does it too. I just grab his hand and say no hit. Then I make him apologize and hug whoever he hit. I don't know what you do to stop it.
