What do you do when your child tells you no? This has become a big one with Nicole lately, and I have NO clue what to do!

If there is something I want Emily to do, such as pick up her toys, I don't ask her, I nicely tell her to do it, that way if she says no, I can tell her that I wasn't asking her to do it and that she didn't need to answer me. For example:
Me: Emily, please go in the den and pick up your Mr. Potato Head and put it away.

Emily: No, momma!

Me: Emily, I didn't ask you, so you don't need to answer me. Go do it now, please.

I don't remember my dd having an especially bad no phase.

I ask once and then threaten to ground him or throw things in the garbage if they don't make it to his room. LOL I don't play, he know's that.

I got lucky with Ryan too- we never went through the No phase...I mean every once in a while now he will say no- but he gives in, I just have to give him the 'look' .... and depending on what he is saying no too .... I give him the reason for it - or I just let him know if he continues not to listen, he will lose something (which in my house is usually orange juice, smoothie, or a tv show - which are all his 'treats')
