Portable carseats?

Does anyone have one of these? We are getting a new bus service starting monday. I called both the state police and the people who are running the service. My dd will have to be in a car seat. It shouldn't be too bad, because these are vans and they have individual seat belts. But I don't know the first thing about portable car seats. What should I look for in one?

I was thinking of something like this - http://www.perfectlysafe.com/travelvest.html It looks very lightweight. If I am going to be carrying this thing everywhere, lightweight is important.

It only weighs five pounds!! I need that when Kieran and I go to appointments without the other kids. If Kate fits within the size requiremnets, I would give it a try. Worse case, you could return it and get the money back.

I have a regular one, but I am not lugging that thing on the city bus. I spoke with the State Police and they told me to look for one certified by the Federal Motor Safety people. She wouldn't be in it for hours just long enough to ride across town on the bus.
