Eating habits?

I noticed this am Logan looks a little slimmer. Of course he has grown also. But he doesnt eat alot. He picks. He would rather eat small meal freq then eat a meal. He is just too busy. Always on the go. Anyway I had him get on the scale and he has lost aprox 4 lbs. I know it could be because he is getting taller but I am just wondering what I can give him extra so he atleast stays the same weight as he grows taller? The hard thing is Samantha. She is alomost as tall as me, 5'3 and already outweighs me. She is not very active although we are working on that. But she feels if Logan has a snack so should she. She feels it isnt fair eventhough she will sit down and eat 3 times what he eats at a meal. I have been thining about the pedia sure shakes but I dont want to get into that habit either in case his weight catches up with his height? He has always been on the go so I am not really worried about him slowing down.

Would Sam settle for healthy snacks like a banana, yogurt or dried fruit? I'm trying to think of something both of them could enjoy while not increasing her weight. Poor Sam. I imagine it is tough to be a big girl at her age.

Her big thing is carbs. WHich is in everything!! She is getting alot better on the activity level. She hops on the elipitcle 3xs a week and the sitter is keeping her active and limiting what and how much she eats. TOday we walked a total of 2 miles down and back to the parade and she didnt complain once. Logan on the other hand was beat Its a work in prgress and I feel bad for Sam becase I dont have to watch what Logan eats. But I am going to give him another week or two and see how he does. If he continues to lose I will add some other stuff in there and see if I can keep him maintaining.

My dd is the same way, Becky. It doesn't matter what we feed her, she's still skinny and small. I try to give her vitamins everyday just to be sure she's getting all she needs.

Jacob is the same way... there are days when it feels like he's continuously eating... and there are days where he doesn't want to really eat anything!! He's small...he's getting taller but his waist is so skinny!!

I woud not worry about Logan. Gavin was the same way...to busy to stop and eat. He went from a tubby toddler to a slim preschooler over night. I would have healthy snacks available Fruit, carrot sticks and so forth. Just because Logan is eating something does not mean Sam has to eat the same thing.

Yes that is my point I tr to make to her Megan. She gets all huffy but the fits over it have calmed down as she begins to understand and wants to make a change in herself.

Keep nutritious stuff on hand, like the fruit. Make smoothies and such. It'll satisfy Sam's sweet tooth and also get Logan to eat more. I don't think I would be too concerned over 4 lbs though, especially if you notice a growth spurt. Doesn't your body burn more calories during those times?

Yes. THe Ped told me that average weight gain per inch is 3 lbs. Sam has always averaged about 6 per inch. I kept looking at Loan this weekend and hee is really starting to grow taller. I am hoping this is just that case and he will not keep loosing. I made him some muffins and he snaked on those yesterday and had one for breakfast this am.

Brianna is the same way though the last 2 months she has increased what she is eating. But she is still very active and is choosy about she eats. Maybe the doctor can give you some ideas about how to increase his weight.
