ok, Duncan is 7, chronologically. However, Emotionally he's around 9 or 10 and intellectually he's around 9 or 10. So there are things that are coming up in conversations that.. I am not ready to answer, things i thought I had time for. And we are always honest, well, as honest as we can be, though not always detailed when it comes to answering tough questions.
I can find books about babies, toddlers, tweens and teens. I can find books on breastfeeding and talking to teens about sex and their bodies. I can find books on raising boys, raising girls, potty training and feeding. I can find books on labor and delivery and pregnancy and how to talk to you children about drugs, smoking and God. I cannot find a book that deals with someone so young being so mature ( in many ways) and not so mature ( in others) all at the same time.
I guess I need a book on raising a gifted child. He's going into the 3rd grade instead of the second, and I know he is ready, academically. I just don't know how to talk to him about adult things yet. Can anyone help me?
