When did you start rice cereal?

I know the recomended age is about 4 months but I hear of so many people starting much earlier than that.

I don't know why people feel the need to start so early...I think I started Rach and Issac too early, but with Ethan I waited until he was almost months old. I think if I'd have waited longer with Rach & Issac they wouldn't have eczema as badly.

Um... how many months Becca?

Zach was a strictly breastfed baby until 6 months when I started rice cereal. Haley was fed cereal and other things much earlier.

With Ryan, he was drinking 8 oz bottles every 2-3 hours... He wasn't getting full enough - so the dr's had us start him real early, it was like the beginning of his 3rd month. He was already doing well with other things, and didn't gag once. And he started filling up and drinking more like normal.

With Aidan, he was drinking just 6-7 oz every 3-4 hours, and he was content with it all. So we didnt start him on cereal I think until the mid- end of his 4th month? Now he is refusing all baby food all together and only wants finger foods

I started both of the girls between 4 & 5 months - a bit later with Kate.

I have been giving Ryan cereal for about 3 weeks now, and I have added veggies. The kid can eat a 8 oz bottle every 3 hours, I just thought it was time. He has done wonderfully and is filling out quite nicely.

I started Kayla at about 3 months. She was taking 8 oz bottles every 3-4 hours. We've been doing fruits and veggies since she was 4 months old. And ejoying them all.

I don't remember when we first tried, I think around two or three months old, but Emily would never eat cereal of any kind.

I started quite early with ds - 6 weeks! I made the rice cereal very thin, but it was enough to satisfy him throughout the night. He started sleeping all night at that point. I fed him by spoon and the first week was a bit messy, but he steadily improved.
I started dd somewhat later, but not much later - around 2 months. It didn't help her sleep through the night though.

I started Zach after his 4 month appt so it was probably close to 4.5 months. To be honest, I plan to start Noah around the same time since it eases up the demands of pumping for me while I'm at work. If he eats something I won't have to give him as much expressed milk which is hard to come by!

I started Bianca at around 3 mos., thinking it might help her reflux (it didn't).
