Did Metallica cave??

I was nosing around iTunes this morning and noticed that all of Metallica's albums have been released as of last week! They were so adament about not letting their music be downloaded that I was shocked! I'm glad to see it because there are a few songs that I love to work out to, but wonder what made them change their tune?? $$ I'm sure!

The problem they had was having people LEAK unreleased albums and music. I think it was Lars that said in an interview awhile back he didn't care so much about stuff that was already out it was the new stuff that pissed them off.

Plus I'd think itunes would be ok with them because you have to pay for the songs, it's not an illegal download, so the artists get cuts off of itunes.

That's why I was surprised that they didn't allow their stuff downloaded on someplace like iTunes years ago. They just released all their albums on July 25th. Surprising, but welcome by me!

Very cool!! I always just upload music from CD's... I havent even used Itunes yet ... when I did some downloading from napster years ago - I woulnd up with tons of pc issues... Maybe I should start now

I use limewire to download my music.....free...sorta illegal but tech not. Then I just transfer them into itunes. I'm bad but I have sooooo much music that it would cost me a fortune. I've ripped every CD I own already. I have a couple of gigs of music now.
