I have no real income and I'm struggling to save money from my child support to pay for her birthday. She really wants to go back to Durham and have her best friend stay in a hotel with us for a night and that in itself is going to cost more than a weeks worth of our money just for the room and gas.
I've gotten her some gifts and I'm really debating whether or not I have enough. Look at my list and help me decide please!

3 books (wrapped together)
Outfit for Samantha (her American Girl Doll)
Bratz Doll (donated by Dawn)
Origami book and new pack of paper
Electric Razor
A few small things that will be put together in a gift bag like lip glosses, a small make-it and bake-it set, etc.

i think thats good. maybe some hairclips o something. how about a sleepover, pizza and girlie movies??

That sounds good to me, too. But birthdays are not huge for us, either.

How far is Durham? Do you think her friend's parents would meet you half way somewhere and you could Just do a day trip instead of spending the night and all?

I'm thinking we are going to watch Haley's first semi-scary movie. She's been dying to see a horror for years now and I think this is a good time to test the waters.
Anyone have a good suggestion for something scary but not too scary. She wants to see either Ghost Ship or 13 Ghosts and I think both of those would be way too much for the first movie.
