Ryan's first day at daycare

John dropped the boys off at daycare since I had to take my mom to the airport. When I went to pick up Ryan at 2:00 for his doctors appointment, the workers in the infant room wanted to know how i got him to sleep because he hadn't slept all day. I said he sleeps on his belly. Ah, they say, but we can't put him to sleep on his stomach. He was in a good mood all day but just no napping. As soon as he got into the car, he fell asleep and slept while I held him at the drs office. Woke up in time for shots.

I go back to daycare to pick up Justin and get Ryans' stuff. While I am in there, I am getting his bottles and I asked if John had sent 3 bottles (which is what I made). The lady said I fed him 2x that is what hte paper said. Ok, but I only see 2 bottles, is there another? So they find it in the fridge completely full. Now I sent 3 bottles because some would be needed to make his cereal. When I see it full, I aks about it. They didn't even notice on my schedule that he is to get cereal. . So I had to explain that and tell them that now per the doctor, he gets cereal and baby food at breakfast and baby food at lunch.

I also talked to the Director about the sleeping issue and she said as long as I put in writing that he can sleep on his belly, that it will be ok.

Hopefully they get it right today!

I know how frustrating that can be! I am not looking forward to putting the next baby in infant care. There are just so many details and instructions that go with tiny ones and they are easily overlooked.
I once picked Haley up from her old daycare and she had another child's pacifier in her hand. She was just about to put it in her mouth and who knows, it could have been in there all day before I got there. I freaked out and ran over to take it from her. That's just one of the reasons we switched daycares.
I hope they get things right soon.

Poor little guy! He must have been exhausted. I'm anxious to hear what they say about letting him sleep on his belly. Licensing is pretty strict about that. The new rules here even say that we can't put a blanket in the crib with a baby. I had a little one in my care that was a belly sleeper. I did find a way for it to work though. I swadled her and let her sleep on her side with a receiving blanket behind her. We compromised and it worked out just fine.
