I just saw something about this on TLC the other day. From what I understood it is very easy to treat now. Try not to get too stressed out honey, leave it in God's hands.

I don't know anything about your condition, but I've had several MRIs and they are painless if somewhat clastrophobic.

I know someone that had this same problem. She took some medication for a few months and it cleared itself up. From what I understand, it's rarely malignant, so try not to stress over it too much until you can get some answers.

it's possible that the MRI is an open one, it depends on your hospital. Some places play music during them from what Mike says too. I hope it's nothing.

I would actually take that as a good sign. I would hope that if the doctor mentioned it in front of the kids that he/she doesn't think it's anything very serious, although I think it would have been best to have had them leave the room first.

Call the MRI clinic and ask if they have an open MRI available. Unfortunately, they can't pipe in music to the open ones (or so I was told at my last one) but at least you know you aren't closed in!

I'm really not sure, although I wouldn't think so. The clinic that did mine called me a few days in advance to see if I had any questions and let me know what to expect. If yours doesn't do that, I'd call them and ask your questions.
