we splurged and bought an angel something monitor, one of the ones that has a materess sensor that alarms if breathing stops. it was pricey and i'm not sure if it was worth it, the alarm would go off it he was at the wrong end of the crib and give us heart attacks!
good luck shopping!

JMO one with a longer range but not that pricey will do for me and this baby. Once they reach a certain age no matter where you are in the house or outside you can hear them cry. It's weird how as they grow their little voice gets louder and louder and soon your like OMG!!! YOUR SCREAMING! LOL

IMO, it depends a lot on needs, budget and size of house etc.
Not such a simple decision after all.
I've written about baby monitors in general on my website.

Ultimately, even with baby monitors, we should not be too complacent and over dependent on it. The personal touch is still the best.
Hope this helps!

One that has the 900mhz is best. It cuts out most interference from other things, such as cell phones, cordless phone, CB radios, etc. And it cuts out the chance of them hearing you as well. Get one with TWO receivers though, that will help a lot.
